3. Higher Education

Texas A&M University is one of the most well-known and largest universities in the world. Located in College Station, Texas, A&M is home to more than 70,000 students on campus. The school was founded in 1876 and is known for its long standing traditions and energetic atmosphere. They are ranked #1 in the nation for best value in Texas, number of public university students studying abroad, and public university for superior education at an affordable cost.  While the Aggies are well-known for their impressive awards and famous traditions, their PR team is what keeps Texas A&M at the top of the game, keeping them nationally ranked year after year.

Texas A&M has a legacy to protect, and the administration team behind their media outreach does an exceptional job to maintain A&M's reputation, in a national and international aspect. Whenever Texas A&M University is searched online, their impressive website is the first available link. As soon as you access their website, you are given an organized and sophisticated view of what Texas A&M has to offer. Links to financial aid, majors, tuition & cost, and graduate and professional programs are available on the first page. As you scroll down the page, you get an inside look to on-campus activities, traditions, and projects going on.

Their At a Glance page immediately lets viewers know their professional and national standings, and dives into the impressive history and demographics of the university.

Below that link, features news stories and updates about the university, such as their environmental efforts or a Twitter link to keep up with their extensive study abroad programs.

These specific links bring direct attention to their achievements and recent projects to promote the growth and diversity of the university.

Their social media is used to promote the university's professionalism and accomplishments, and their Facebook page is an exceptional outlet to this information. All of their uploads reflect campus activity, athletic updates, and a network of Aggies past and present.

Texas A&M University has an extensive program for studying abroad. Their website goes into great depth about their trips, financial aid, and the step by step process to join. The success of this program is a viable resource to draw attention to the university. This program provides excellent experiences for students, attracting a multitude of outside opportunities, internationally.

As I previously mentioned, A&M is known for their large student body and their many on-campus traditions. One of the ways they market their university is by combining these two well-known facts about the school. Not everyone is attracted to a large-scale college experience, but with the Texas A&M traditions, they are able to advertise the school with a "big school" atmosphere, but a "small school" feel. The traditions allow each student to feel connected to the university in their own way, while being surrounded by thousands of others experiencing the same thing.

One of the ways they market this idea is through their FISH camp, or freshman orientation camps. FISH camp is a 4-day orientation, where incoming freshman are "given opportunities to learn Aggie traditions, make friends and learn more about life at Texas A&M. The camp is led entirely by Texas A&M students".

These smaller groups allow incoming students to become familiar with A&M on a smaller scale, while meeting as many people as they can in this short time. FISH camp is "a Aggie's first tradition" to partake in, and it's one of the most marketed events.

While game days at Kyle Field have an overwhelming and exciting energy, that's not the only thing attracting students from across the country and the world. The research available at Texas A&M remains a prestigious and excellent image of the university.

The Texas A&M research foundation is funded by organizations such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the Office of Naval Research. Through these organizations, Texas A&M is represented  in various fields and professional outlets throughout the country.

If you visit Texas A&M's news website, Texas A&M Today, there is inside information about the projects A&M is working on with NASA. Such as their research about the effects of altered gravity, funded by NASA. This exposure would bring a chance for the university to be featured in a professional environment which will attract new prospective students.

The public relations team for Texas A&M University has effectively promoted and and portrayed the professional and traditional aspects of the university. From their 70,000 students and fans in Kyle Field, to a prospective student in another country, Texas A&M does an excellent job of creating an impressive legacy for Aggies across the world.
